A vinyl sticker with five Italian M1870/87 Vetterli rifles, originally a Swiss design from 1868. This version was chambered in 10.35x47mmR, a centerfire cartridge. It was adopted in 1870 by the Italian armed forces and would serve until 1891 as their main firearm. During the 1880s, it underwent a few modifications, chiefly a change to the rear sight to account for smokeless powder, and the addition of the Vitali magazine system, turning the rifle into a 4-shot repeater. Later, during WW1, it would undergo further modifications for use on a more modern battlefield with different ammunition. A lot of the M1870/87 models were also sent to tsarist Russia during WW1 and they ultimately ended up in Republican hands during the Spanish Civil War.
